Across the Bay: Berkeley
Across the bay in Berkeley, San Francisco you can find plenty of things to do. If you enjoy climbing, you can take a 1280 foot climb to the top of Wildcat Peak. You will begin you hike from the Environmental Education Center across from Little Farm. Here you will find a variety of things for the kids to do. From hands on feeding to petting the little animals. The trail offers many beautiful sites as well as some foot bridges to cross.
In Berkeley there are plenty of assorted restaurants to choose from. From Louisiana shrimp and swamp water, ( which is iced tea & lemonade), to gourmet ghetto style cuisine. The service is always friendly and you usually get a personal visit from the owner himself. In July, if you like flying kites, you will enjoy the Berkeley Kite Festival. Each year hobbyists and families from around the world gather here to show off their exhibitions. From giant kites to old fashioned as well as stunt kites, everybody tries to win this completion.
If cars is your thing, you might want to visit here in September for the Art Car show. For the last seven years people have been coming here to express how creative they can be when it comes to cars. These cars range from painted to totally shocking three dimensional figurines.
